Foremost Nigerian singer-songwriter and second generation musician, Seun Kuti has stated that he is a ‘Juju’ worshipper.
‘Juju’ is a colloquial term for charm.
Seun Kuti, the son of the legendary Afrobeat connoisseur, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti has stated that despite being the grandchild of Chief Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, who was an anti-colonial feminist, and Reverend Israel Oludotun Ransome-Kuti, an Anglican minister, school principal, and the first president of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, he doesn’t believe in religion.

The singer said despite his familyās role in propagating Christianity in Nigeria, he is not a follower of the religion.
He boldly declared that he is a ājujuā worshipper.
Speaking in the latest episode of the Spill With Phyna podcast, Kuti urged other Africans to return to African traditional religions.
He said, āIt was my family that started Anglican side of Christianity in this country, if you look back at it. We are among the pioneers. So, weāve been there, weāve done that and weāve moved on. And we hope Africans can follow suit.
āI donāt go to church. Na juju me I dey do.ā
