Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has weighed in on the place of financial stability in relationships and marriage, stressing that love alone may not be enough to guarantee a comfortable family life.
The actress stated that she does not subscribe to the belief that marrying a financially struggling partner can automatically lead to happiness or a fulfilling life.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Isime noted that financial hardship often places enormous pressure on couples, making it difficult for them to enjoy their marriage and properly cater to their families.

“Marriage is not a poverty alleviation scheme but I don’t believe marrying a poor man can make you happy.

“When rent is due, school fees can’t be paid and there is no food in the house, it is difficult to have a fantastic life.
“I am not saying there is no love without money. But love and fantastic life are not the same,” she said.
She further advised intending couples to attain a reasonable level of financial stability before getting married and starting a family.
