Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr has disclosed that she is recovering after undergoing a major surgery.
The singer made the revelation on Thursday while explaining her recent absence from social media.
Ayra Starr, who had been inactive online for about a week before returning on Wednesday, said in a post shared via her Instagram Story that she underwent a complicated surgical procedure.
Apologising to her fans for her sudden disappearance, the singer said her recovery had taken longer than expected and assured them she would return after getting adequate rest.

She wrote, “Hey Mobstarrs, I’m sorry you’re not seeing as much of me as I would like. I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping it would be a quick recovery but it was more complicated than they expected.
“I just need a bit of rest and I’ll be back. Starrgirl is coming so soooon,” she stated.
