Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has revealed why she is not considering a musical collaboration with fellow artiste Tiwa Savage, despite ongoing calls from fans for both stars to work together.
Speaking during an interview on the “WithChude” podcast on YouTube, Yemi said she prefers to avoid anything that could bring unnecessary drama into her life.
The ‘Johnny’ crooner explained that while she supports women in the industry and has worked with several female musicians, she would rather not collaborate with Tiwa Savage because of the tension that usually arises from fan rivalry and media speculation.
Yemi made it clear that she has no personal issue with Tiwa, but believes fans and the media often create conflict where none exists.

She said the constant comparisons and online drama that follow such collaborations are things she would rather stay away from.
She said: “I’d rather stay clear to avoid any potential problems in my life. But I know that the fan-favourite collaboration is Tiwa Savage you mentioned. I’d rather stay clear; I don’t want problems in my life.
“There is no issue at all. The thing is, most fans and the media tend to stir waters that are supposed to be still. There is literally no problem.”
The two artistes had previously made headlines in December 2018 after they appeared to exchange subtle jabs on social media.
The issue began when Yemi posted a tweet indirectly shading female entertainers who, according to her, edit their photos to appear more curvy.
The post came shortly after Tiwa Savage shared some of her own pictures, leading many to believe the message was directed at her.
Tiwa later responded with a post warning against starting battles that cannot be finished.
