Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared Monday, February 24, 2025, a public holiday to allow citizens to participate in his inauguration and that of his deputy, Olayide Adelami.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor announced that the work-free day would enable residents to fully engage in the inauguration activities.
The ceremonies began on Friday with a Jumat Service at the Akure Central Mosque.
On Sunday, a Church Thanksgiving Service will be held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus House, Oke-Ijebu, Akure, the state capital.

The official swearing-in ceremony for Governor Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor Adelami is scheduled for Monday at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.
This will be followed by a gala night and book presentation at the International Centre for Culture & Events (The Dome), Akure.
Meanwhile, the governor has lifted the restriction of movement for the monthly environmental sanitation exercise on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
However, residents are still expected to clean their surroundings despite the lifted restriction.
