International movies set to be released August 2024

As usual, at the beginning of every month, we bring you international movies set to be released that month. This month will feature new movies and new seasons of sequels. August 2024 promises blockbuster movies you should watch.

It Ends with Us

Sony Pictures is set to release the film version of Colleen Hoover’s novel It Ends with Us. The movie will feature Blake Lively, who doubled as the movie producer. Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni play main roles in the movie.

About 72% percent of Google users like the movie already, but the release date is on August 9, 2024. The movie is regarded as “contemplative, compelling and serious”. Based on the Sony Pictures and Netflix liaison, the movie will be on Netflix 160 days after the initial release.

The Umbrella Academy, Season 4

The final season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy will be released on August 8 with only six episodes. This doesn’t really signify the end of the franchise, and there is a possibility of potential spin-offs. This season is focused on when the Hargreeves are without their powers.

As always, The Umbrella Academy promises to be fun and exhilarating. The movie series is adapted from Gerard Way’s comic book of the same title. Steve Blackman has been the show’s forerunner since its inception in 2019.

Borderlands

Regarded as “ bold, thrilling, and wry’, Borderlands is an upcoming American science fiction comedy film based on the Gearbox Software video game series of the same name. Eli Roth wrote and directed Borderlands to be released by Lionsgate on August 9, 2024.

However, it premiered in Los Angeles on August 6, 2024. Stars like Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Edgar Ramirez played roles in the movie.

Horizon: An American Saga: Chapter 2

This is the second sequel in the Western epic Horizon: An American Saga series. The movie was directed, co-written, produced, and starred Kevin Costner, who has reportedly been working on this project since 1988.

In addition, he wrote the movie scripts alongside John Baird and Mark Kasdan. The series is set to feature four movies, and the second sequel will be released on August 16.

Bel-Air Season 3

Peacock’s Bel–Air release date is on August 15. This is the third season in the Bel-Air franchise. The movie’s trailer has raised heightened excitement among its fans. Moreover to fans, it was somewhat of a deserved wait after the last season was released on February 23, 2023.

The first three episodes will be released on the release date, and the other episodes will be released weekly.

The Union

Mark Wahlberg pairs up with Halle Berry on this one. The duo plays the main roles in this upcoming spy action comedy-thriller. Even though critics say the plot story might be shallow, movie lovers are still interested in seeing it. The Union, directed by Julian Farino, will be on Netflix by August 16, 2024.
