Nigerian actress Dayo Amusa has cleared the air over rumours claiming she is living with HIV by releasing her latest medical test result to the public.
The controversy started after a video circulated online, in which a content creator listed her among actors allegedly battling the virus.
The actress dismissed the claim as false and damaging to her reputation.
Amusa recalled that she had shared her HIV-negative result in 2019 during a campaign that encouraged people to know their health status.

She explained that the awareness campaign was meant to promote testing and not because she was infected.
To put an end to the ongoing speculation, the actress posted a new photo of her test result on Instagram on Tuesday, showing that she remains negative.
She also warned that she may take legal action against the individual who spread the story.
Beyond clearing her name, Amusa urged her fans and Nigerians in general to adopt regular HIV testing as part of their health routine, stressing that knowing one’s status is a step towards protecting both oneself and others.
“I still feel the need to encourage individuals to get tested and know their HIV status. It is better to know your status so that you can guide yourself and save others too” she captioned.
