The Lagos State Government has debunked reports circulating on social media suggesting that cut-off marks for admission into Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools have been released.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, issued the clarification yesterday.
She urged parents, students, and guardians to disregard the unauthorised publication.
Describing the viral report as “fictitious and fraudulent,” Dokunmu-Adegbite stated that neither the Ministry nor any official agency of the State Government has announced cut-off marks or merit lists for admission following the recently concluded Computer-Based Test (CBT) screening.

“The purported publication and its content are fake, fraudulent, and did not emanate from the State Government or any of its agencies,” she said.
She further advised prospective candidates and their families to await official announcements from the appropriate government channels regarding the release of results and admission procedures.
The Permanent Secretary also warned the public to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to scammers and impostors claiming to have insider access to the admissions process.
“Lagos State does not engage in clandestine admission processes into any of its schools, including Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools,” she added.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and credible admission process in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision for quality education under the #AGreaterLagosRising agenda.
