Lagos govt teams up with media firm for new entrepreneurship reality show

The Lagos State Government has taken steps to further solidify its status as Africa’s innovation hub by exploring a high-impact partnership with Bravopoints International Limited to launch a new entrepreneurial reality television competition.

The strategic engagement, held at the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, focused on “Lagos New Colossus,” an initiative designed to discover, mentor, and fund the next generation of business leaders within the state.

The proposal, presented by Bravopoints Founder Mide Akinlaja, aims to go beyond traditional business support by using the power of media to tell the “human stories” behind entrepreneurship.

It features cutting-edge business ideas and advanced enterprise strategies, connecting young talent with established business icons and projecting Lagos as a premier centre for creativity and sustainable wealth.

The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, expressed strong support for the partnership.

He noted that the initiative is a perfect fit for the ministry’s mandate to create sustainable pathways to prosperity for residents.

“The Lagos State Government remains unwavering in its commitment to economic empowerment and global recognition for Lagos-grown innovation,” Ajigbotafe stated.

The commissioner highlighted that the ministry is actively seeking “strategic partnerships that amplify impact,” particularly those that unlock new opportunities for the state’s massive youth population.
