Renowned Nigerian rapper, M.I Abaga, has revealed that he now regrets backing the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2015 presidential election.

The rapper said he had initially supported the party out of concern over the alleged corruption within the then-ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In a recent appearance on the Menism podcast, M.I explained that while his intentions were driven by hope for a better political future, the APC has failed to meet his expectations.

He said, “I tweeted about the thing [herdsmen attacks] that happened in Benue and a lot of people were saying, ‘But M.I., you supported the APC.’

“As a human being, no matter how much you try to be right, you will be wrong [sometimes]. APC, unfortunately, isn’t the APC of my dreams.”

M.I also emphasized that he is now more focused on collaborating with fellow young Nigerians to help reshape the country through his music and influence.
