“Many artist pour me spit for face” – Shallipopi opens up on early industry struggles

Nigerian singer, Shallipopi, has opened up about the challenges he faced while trying to gain recognition in the music industry, revealing that several colleagues treated him poorly between 2023 and 2024.

In a post shared on social media, the ‘Ex-convict’ crooner disclosed that many Nigerian artists were neither welcoming nor supportive during his early rise, noting that he did not receive the kind of acceptance he had hoped for.

According to him, the experience significantly shaped his current attitude, making him tougher in his dealings.

On his X handle, the singer wrote, “2023/2024 many artist pour me spit for face…. I mean manyyyyyy, that’s why I’m extra mean, ogun go kill of una one by one as time dey go.”
