Nigerian comedian, Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly called Mr Jollof, on Monday, November 17, got into a physical fight with social media critic, Martins Otese, known as VeryDarkMan, while aboard an aircraft.
The incident happened during a flight and drew attention from other passengers.
Mr Jollof later shared a video on Instagram where he apologised to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, United Nigeria Airlines, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, his family, passengers on the flight and other Nigerians.

He stated that he was not proud of his actions and promised it would not happen again.
He explained that the clash started after he was seated and VDM approached him with harsh words and threats.
According to him, he reacted to defend himself when VDM walked closer, leading to the altercation.
He claimed that during the fight he delivered several blows and bit VDM on the chest because he acted on impulse and used whatever means available to protect himself.
Mr Jollof expressed regret over the incident, especially for causing discomfort to passengers and embarrassing his family, and assured it would not repeat itself.
He said, “I want to use this medium to sincerely apologise to the NCAA, United Nigeria Airlines, and the passengers that boarded the airline. I was only defending myself. You guys saw what happened, and I am very sorry if I delayed your appointment. Pardon me. This isn’t my kind of person. It will never happen again.
“To my lovely wife, I know you’re proud of me. To my kids, I am sorry, Daddy will never do this again. To my boss, I am very sorry, this isn’t my kind of person.
“Mike Tyson the fighter, he used what God gave him. When you carry knife come gun battle, anything when you see you go take am.”
