Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has shared how his family was not in support of his decision to pursue music at the beginning of his career.

He explained during the Off The Record podcast that his parents believed success in music was very rare and often advised him that only a small number of people make it while many others struggle without results.

Despite this, he held on to his belief that he could be among those who succeed and chose to continue building his craft.

Blaqbonez said he did not take their early doubts as a reason to stop.

He felt it was a difference in thinking between his generation and theirs, and he remained confident in his direction even when support was low.
