Nigerian gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has shared an unsettling experience with a man claiming to perform juju, who tried to cast a spell on him while on the road.
The incident reportedly happened on an expressway and involved the same man approaching him for a second time.
According to Bassey, the man knocked on his car and attempted to use spiritual means to influence him. Rather than being frightened, Bassey reacted calmly, reciting Bible verses he believes protect him from harm.
The gospel singer’s account was shared during a worship session on the ‘Hallelujah Challenge.’
He mentioned passages that speak of divine protection over God’s chosen people, indicating that no spell or divination could succeed against him.

At one point, Bassey got out of his car and told the man to leave immediately.
He later said he regretted not holding the man until authorities arrived, as the attempt could have been investigated further.
Despite the encounter, Bassey reassured his followers that he felt safe and protected, emphasizing that evil exists in the world but cannot overpower faith.
He said, “I don’t know how we knew, but this was the second time that this same guy, the ‘juju man,’ was coming.
“One time on the express road, he came and knocked. He was casting an enchantment, hoping that it would influence me. He was commanding me to do something, but I just stood there and laughed.
“I said, didn’t they tell you that as they went from one kingdom to another, He suffered no man to do them wrong; He rebuked kings for their sake, saying, ‘Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm’?
“I just regretted that I should have kept him there for the police. While he was there, he was waiting for the spell to work on me. But Numbers 23:23 says there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel.
“I came out of my car and ordered him to get out of here, you dirty devil, quick. I’m not saying this to boast, but while we do not glorify the devil, there is wickedness in the world.”
