Many persons aspire to touch lives positively but only few actually succeed in doing so. Nathaniel Bassey is one of the few. Over the years, he has sharpened his skill, worked diligently, and spurred others to achieve their dreams.
The prolific music star has had his fair share of life’s challenges. However, it has not stopped him from scaling heights to become one of Nigeria’s top gospel singers. For this reason, he is NRTC’s Personality of the Month for March.
Who is Nathaniel Bassey?
Bassey is the convener of the Hallelujah Challenge, an online platform where Christians worship God from 12:00 midnight to 1:00am WAT.
Born in Lagos on August 27, 1978, Bassey is from Akwa-Ibom state. He sings passionately about the wonders of God. In ‘Olorun Agbaye‘, he describes God as One who ‘’has a track record of keeping His words.’’
He constantly dishes out lyrics in proclamation of God’s mightiness and brings a message of hope to the downtrodden. His words encourage people to hang on despite the hard times they may be facing.
The ‘’Onise Iyanu’’ crooner studied International Relations and Politics at the University of Lagos before moving to the University of London to study Politics. He started his musical career playing his trumpet as part of a jazz quartet in Lagos. Bassey joined the Rhodes Orchestra shortly afterwards and served as band leader and lead trumpet player for two years.

In the year 2008, Nathaniel Bassey released his debut album – Elohim. Other albums such as The Son of God, Revival Flames, This Good is too Good, and Jesus – The Resurrection and the Life have since been released.
The Experience is Nigeria’s biggest Christian gathering and Nathaniel Bassey has graced this platform, much to the delight of his fanbase.

The ‘’Olowogbogboro’’ crooner uses his life as a testimony. Starting off with limited resources did not deter him. His gift has blessed him and he is now a benefactor to many. This is the main reason why he channels his efforts into encouraging people to be diligent with whatever they find their hands doing.
He does not just speak of God’s faithfulness; he has actions and results to back it. Nathaniel is a testament that those who are consistent with their work will reap their reward in due time.
Bassey is married and blessed with two children. Beyond being a music minister and gospel singer par excellence, he is an inspiration.
