The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed a six-month flight ban on popular Fuji artist, Wasiu Ayinde, widely known as Kwam 1, following reports of his disruptive behavior at the domestic terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The announcement was made on Thursday by Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, during a media briefing.
Achimugu stated, “As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months flying in Nigeria. Everybody involved in this will be brought to book.”
He stressed that aviation rules are not selective and apply equally to all individuals, regardless of their fame or political affiliations.

“Aviation rules are made for everybody, for the protection of everybody. These rules are global. There is nothing about the rules that is to antagonise any passenger,” he explained.
Achimugu also disclosed that the authority is in the process of reaching out to the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to pursue legal action against the musician.
Responding to concerns about Ayinde’s relationship with President Bola Tinubu potentially interfering with the case, he clarified, “The President, as well as the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, are committed to the rule of law. No individual, regardless of status, is exempt from due process.”
