On Friday, December 22, Afrobeat superstar, Ayodeji Balogun who is better known as Wizkid debuted his second EP, Soundman 2.
The music project has debuted predominantly to a positive remark from music critics and fans of the self-acclaimed Star Boy.
The Nigerian singer-songwriter has not released a single in 2023, hence, the project was well-received from his fans and it emerged at an ideal timeframe.

Wizkid’s Soundman EP 2 is coming several months after he lost his mother, Madam Oladolapo Balogun. The renowned Afrobeat superstar went on a brief hiatus following the unfortunately incident; he has returned to the studio to record a 4-track EP.

Prior to the release of the EP on Friday morning, Wizkid’s colleague in the entertainment industry, Davido disclosed that his fellow Afrobeat artiste, Big Wiz will be debuting his project.
Speaking about why he announced the promotion of Wizkid’s EP despite criticism from fans, Davido stated,
āNah you know. Iām 31 years old. I want peace.ā
This comes after Wizkid announced that his four-track album EP, āSoundman Vol.2ā, will be coming up.
Equally, the music project features notable artistes such as Wande Coal on the single, ‘Ololufe’ and sensational rapper, Zlatan on ‘IDK’.
