The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has provided financial support amounting to ₦6,972,000 for ten students of the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja.

The organisation made this known in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the initiative underscores its commitment to broadening access to higher education across the country.

“We are pleased to announce the disbursement of ₦6,972,000.00 to 10 beneficiaries at African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Abuja, Nigeria,” the Fund said.

Confirming the development, the university’s Registrar, Mustapha Abdul, disclosed that the money was released on July 21, 2025.

“We deeply appreciate this timely intervention, which will significantly ease the financial burdens of our beneficiaries and enhance their ability to focus on their academic pursuit,” the management added.

NELFUND was created under the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act, which was signed into law by President Bola Tinubu on April 3, 2024.

The Fund is designed to make higher education and skills training more accessible to young Nigerians.

Just on Monday, the Federal Government revealed that over ₦59 billion has already been disbursed through the scheme, with more than 600,000 students benefiting so far.

During a briefing in Asaba, the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, stressed that government policy remains clear: no qualified Nigerian should miss out on tertiary education due to financial constraints.
