Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked conversation with his message to African men about marriage proposals.
In a post on Facebook, he urged men not to kneel when proposing, calling it a foreign tradition that does not reflect African culture.
According to him, men should propose while standing, showing confidence and pride in their identity. He suggested that women admire men who recognize their own value and strength.
He wrote: “Dear African man, never you kneel down to propose marriage to a woman. That’s a very foolish Oyibo culture.Stand proudly like a true African man who knows his worth and propose to her.Women adore men who know their value..”
Edochie’s post has drawn attention on social media, with many users discussing cultural expectations and modern relationship practices.
