American rapper and singer Azealia Banks has stirred reactions online after claiming that Nigerians are not welcoming towards Black Americans.
The ‘212’ crooner alleged that Nigerians are “cold-hearted” and tend to distance themselves from Black Americans.
In a post shared on her X handle, she wrote, “I don’t want to be Nigerian because Nigerian people are cold-hearted and push black Americans away.”

Her comments triggered criticism from many Nigerians on social media, with several users accusing her of making unfair generalisations about Nigerians.
Despite the backlash that followed, the rapper continued to mock Nigerians online and did not retract her comments.
