NNPC denies selling refinery scrap, warns public of fraud

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has warned the public about false claims suggesting that the company is selling scrap materials or equipment from its refineries to individuals and private companies.

NNPC stated categorically that it has not issued any request for bids, tenders, or approvals for the sale of refinery components or any items from its warehouses.

The company also reported that certain individuals are falsely presenting themselves as representatives or agents of NNPC, claiming to facilitate the sale of so-called scrap metals or refinery equipment.

These individuals are not authorised by NNPC and are attempting to mislead the public, the company said.
