No condition is permanent – Tacha says as she visits her one-room apartment in Port Harcourt

Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has revisited the one-room apartment in Nkpor, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where her life’s journey began.

The emotional visit, captured in a viral video, showed Tacha walking through the familiar streets where she once lived.

Residents of the community cheered as she interacted warmly with them.

She greeted elderly neighbours, played with children, and met her former hairstylist, who introduced her to her now-grown daughter.

During the visit, Tacha expressed deep emotions as she reflected on her early life in the crowded compound, calling it the starting point of her dreams as a six-year-old girl.

She noted how far she had come—from living in a single room to building an international career in entertainment and beauty.

She said: “This is where the dream of a little six-year-old girl literally started. This used to be my house and my compound. God is wonderful. From one-room apartment in Port Harcourt to breaking barriers on the world stage. I am Tacha and I am attempting to break the Guinness Book of Records for the most makeovers on people. In life, nothing is permanent. Join me on this historic journey.”

Before gaining fame, Tacha ran a small beauty business in Port Harcourt, offering makeovers and selling beauty products online.

Her growing online presence eventually earned her a spot on the 2019 Big Brother Naija “Pepper Dem” edition.

Despite her disqualification from the show, she rose to become one of the most popular former housemates, with a large and loyal fan base known as the “Titans.”

Tacha is now preparing to attempt a Guinness World Record for the most makeovers done in 24 hours.

The record-breaking event will take place during her three-day beauty festival, scheduled for October 10 to 12, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Lagos.

She said the festival is not only aimed at setting a global record but also at celebrating Nigeria’s growing beauty industry and inspiring others to believe that humble beginnings can lead to great achievements.
