Nollywood actress, Olayode Juliana, popularly known as Toyo Baby, has cleared the air about her relationship with Funke Akindele, saying there is no misunderstanding between them.
Speaking during an interview with BBC Pidgin, the actress said she still respects and loves Funke Akindele, whom she described as a mother figure in the movie industry.
According to her, their bond remains strong and there is no problem between them.
She explained that she looks up to the filmmaker and sees her as an industry mother, adding that there is no fight or hidden issue as some people may think.
“Funke Akindele, she’s somebody I really respect and love. You know, I look up to her. She’s an amazing human being.
“So me and Funke Akindele are like mother to child, like industry mother to me. So no lele, no yawa, no nothing. Nothing dey!”
Olayode also spoke about her personal values and why she has chosen not to kiss in movies.

She said she does not believe in kissing scenes and made it clear that she would not take up such roles.
According to her, if a script requires kissing, she would rather step aside.
She added that before anyone would see her kissing in a movie, it would have to be with her husband, and even at that, she is not interested in marrying an actor.
“Before you go see me where I go kiss for film, maybe they cast me with my husband. That’s if I marry an actor, which I don’t want to marry an actor,” she said.
Olayode explained that if anyone judges actresses for acting intimate scenes, she would not want to be part of such expectations.
“If a person comes out and they kiss me, I will say, this actor, this actress, they kiss, they open their breasts, they say, ah, I can never marry her. Not with me, I can never,” she stated, adding that she prefers to stay true to her values.
