It is often said that the measure of a manās life is not in his length of days, but in the impact he makes. Prolific movie producer, director, and screenwriter, Chico Ejiro, went to the great beyond on Christmas day, 2020. It is sad news that shook many persons.
According to sources, the Delta state born movie maestro died after suffering a seizure. Year 2020 saw the end of this brilliant, hardworking, and unrelenting movie maker. Ejiro produced about 85 movies in his life time. He was working on his latest project when death visited him.
At a time Nollywood was still brewing great stars, Ejiro – the boss at Grand Touch Pictures – was at the forefront. He made it a point of duty to churn out many movies to the delight of his fans.
Although a graduate of Agriculture, Mr. Prolific – as Ejiro is fondly called – saw movie production as an art he could succeed in. His three decades on the scene prove that his decision was totally worth it.

Undoubtedly, he has left his foot prints on the sands of time. Even in death, Chico Ejiro will take his rightful place when the names of great movie makers in Nigeria are mentioned. His death is a sad loss to the Nigerian film industry.
Tributes to the late movie icon
Chicoās older brother Zeb, who is also very proficient in the film industry, stated that “it is a rude shock” to him that his brother is gone.
Upon hearing the sad news, Chico’s colleague – Felix Duker – expressed his pain. Other notable personalities have paid tributes to the fallen hero who has raised many stars over the years.
In acknowledging Ejiroās efforts at grooming people, Imoh Umoren, fellow Nollywood filmmaker tweeted, āāRIP Chico Ejiro. This is the guy who inspired me the most as a film maker. His work ethic is unmatched and he is one of the pioneers of the industry we have now. Thanks and Goodbye.āā
Ejiro will be greatly missed. Until his death, he was married to Joy Ejiro with four children.
