Sport: Achraf Hakimi outsmarts wife, registered assets with mum’s name

On Friday (yesterday), the news of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender, Achraf Hakimi’s wife seeking divorce went viral on social media. His wife, Hiba Abouk was said to have filed a divorce application in court over allegations of infidelity.

NRTC WEEKLY gathered that the 36-year-old Abouk told the court to dissolve their marriage and demanded half of Hakimi’s property in the divorce settlement.

NRTC WEEKLY confirmed that the defender had been accused of raping a woman he invited to his matrimonial home when his wife and the family were in Dubai which shaked their marriage foundation.

Hakimi, who receives €1 million monthly was charged with rape by French prosecutors in March after a 24-year-old woman made a complaint to police on Sunday, February 26.

Meanwhile, some Nigerians, especially netizens, who reacted to the news tagged Hakim as the only wise man on earth following his action.

According to them, Hakim had seen it coming and he was so smart to have registered all his assets under her mummy’s name.

The netizens further added that Hakim prevented what happened to former Arsenal and Cote d’Ivoire star, Emmanuel Eboue, who went broke and homeless after being involved in a legal battle with ex-wife Aurelie.

In 2017, the former defender found himself on the losing side as he gave up most of his assets to his ex-wife.

“The only person you can trust is your mummy, sister, father, and brother because trusting a woman from another mother is dangerous.

“You all meet the only man that defeated a woman using another woman. Legend to be remembered by history.

“Most lazy women in the Western culture tend to depend on divorce to secure a fortune.” Netizens said.

On a contrary note, some women who took to their social media handles to react to the issue as was gathered by NRTC WEEKLY stated they will rather remain single than get married to a man like Hakim.

“Since you can not trust women with your properties, the best option for men is to continue having their sex fantasies with their mummy.

“Instead of the men condemning Hakim for cheating, they were busy justifying his misdeed. Men can’t make heaven.” Women said.

Politics: Dino Melaye and Nyesom Wike tackle each other over governorship ambition

It is yet another battle in the People Democratic Party (PDP) as the presidential spokesperson for PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Dino Melaye, and the aspirant of the party during the presidential primary, Nyesom Wike, resumed another tussle.

Wike who dragged Atiku and the Party National Chairman, Senator Iyioricha Ayu over what he described as misconduct during the primary election has told Dino his governorship ambition can’t be possible.

NRTC WEEKLY gathered that Dino declared ambition to run for the Kogi State gubernatorial seat but Wike in an address with journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday said the former lawmaker cannot be Governor of the state.

Information gathered revealed that the rift between the two could have been from loyalty to the presidential ambition of Atiku who lost to All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February presidential election.

Wike disclosed that giving Dino the governorship ticket is synonymous to wasting the ticket because Kogi people will not vote for a candidate like him.

He said the PDP chieftain does not have what it takes to contest for the governorship seat because he had destroyed his image.

Wike further added that being born in one place doesn’t mean one will win and to avoid ‘the election was rigged’ Dino shouldn’t be considered.

Replying, Dino said Wike was angry because he failed to support his presidential ambition. He said he(Wike) should focus on planning how to survive after he quits the government on May 29.

Dino stated that he received several calls from him during the presidential election begging for his support but decided to go for the best candidate, Atiku.

The former senator said Wike sponsored his governorship campaigns in 2015 as well as the 2019 governorship campaign and is now saying he’s not fit in 2023.

Taking to their social media, Nigerians urged the two to settle the rift, saying anyone Wike is against can never win. “He fought against Atiku and caused him from winning. Dino should’ve known there was a boss in politics.

“The two are bosses though, but one is superior, hence the need for them to calm down and work together,” Netizens added.

Entertainment: Saworoide part 2 to be released soon

There was excitement in the air, the internet went agog as ace movie producer Tunde Kelani announced that part 2 of Saworoide, an iconic movie, will be released soon.

Tuinde Kelani.

The movie which was released in 1999 portrayed Yoruba storytelling in terms of powerful proverbs and cultural symbolism exploring themes of power, corruption, and the struggle for justice in a society where the voices of the people are often silenced.

Kelani was known decades ago as specialising in producing movies that promote Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage directed and produced the movie which depicts the setting of an old Yoruba norm in the town of Jogbo where a person can not be crowned king without a ritual that involves the playing of a Saworoide.

NRTC WEEKLY found how the movie offered commentary on the current political and economic landscape of Nigeria.

Expressing their readiness and expectations, Nigerians via their social media platforms opined it’ll address the current power tussle, no freedom of speech, and other rights of Nigerians that have been infringed upon by political leaders.

Saworoide.

“We will never get tired of watching the movie because of the great storytelling, the setting, and what it portrayed. As we expect part 2, we hope it’ll address the current situation in Nigeria.

“Because movies and music are the only things Nigerians use to express their grievances and there’s nothing that’ll happen.”

Metro: Man Lynched to Death in Akure

Nigerians, the government, and most especially experts have condemned the act of jungle justice displayed in Akure, the Ondo State Capital which led to the death of a 25-year-old Uber driver in Lagos.

Tope Olorunfemi was beaten to death by an angry mob for killing about three persons and injuring several others in an accident that occurred along Ijoka Road, Akure.

The angry mob suspected the deceased to have been an internet fraudster called ‘yahoo boy’. He was killed after some materials alleged to be fetish were found in his car.

But the deceased mother, Mrs. Moji Olorunfemi clarified that his son killed on Easter Monday was an easygoing human being and was never a Yahoo boy.

She said the materials found in his car belonged to his wife and daughter, saying her son was killed right before her and members of the family.

As of press time, NRTC WEEKLY findings revealed that some people have been arrested by the police and will be transferred to court to face the rot of law.

Business: National Population Commission palaver

Shortlisted candidates for the National Population Commission have groaned over the everyday postponement of the exercise training. NRTC WEEKLY gathered that many ad-hoc staff shortlisted for the exercise have travelled more than two times to their local government hoping the training will commence but no.

NPC.

The exercise which was initially postponed from April to May had been marred with irregularities in shortlisting successful candidates. After the closing of shortlisting, some people in charge of it were reportedly collecting money to help those whose applications were unsuccessful.

NRTC WEEKLY gathered that some paid a sum of ten thousand[#10,000] for their application to be successful but are currently regretting their action as the training date is not certain.

Someone of the candidate for the exercise claimed religious affiliation had been included in the process, but the commission clarified that the census program is religion and ethnicity unbiased.

NPC on Friday in Kano said this when the National Publicity Committee on the 2023 Population and Housing Census paid an advocacy visit to the Nigerian Television Authority, Kano.

The visit was led by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Chairman of the committee and Minister of Information and Culture, represented by the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Dr. Garba Abari.
