Jack Wilshere will lead Norwich City’s first team on an interim basis for their final two Championship fixtures.
The Canaries have opted for a major shake-up as Head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup has departed the club, and his assistant Glen Riddersholm has also exited.
The club announced their immediate exit, stating: “Norwich City can confirm that head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup has left the club with immediate effect.
“Assistant head coach Glen Riddersholm has also left his position.” This decision brings an end to a short-lived coaching chapter at Carrow Road.

Despite the sudden change, Norwich have quickly moved to steady the ship by announcing on Tuesday: “Jack Wilshere will take charge of the first team on an interim basis for our two remaining Sky Bet Championship fixtures.” The former Arsenal midfielder now faces a brief but crucial task.

To support Wilshere in this role, the club is relying on trusted hands. “He will be assisted by Tony Roberts and Nick Stanley.”
Although results may have influenced this decision, the club has shown appreciation. “We would like to thank Johannes and Glen for their efforts during their time at the club.” However, it’s clear the board believes fresh direction is needed immediately.
The timing of this announcement suggests a push to reset before the summer. Moreover, appointing Wilshere makes cases for a potential long-term vision, even if the interim tag remains.
