The National Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abubakar Ahmed, has lauded the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his “tremendous support” for security operations within the State.
Ahmed delivered the commendation yesterday during a courtesy visit, accompanied by a team of Corps officers, to the governor at the presidential Lodge of the government house in Akure.
The NSCDC boss disclosed that Aiyedatiwa is one of the few governors providing substantial operational support to the Corps, an effort that has significantly strengthened the partnership between the State government and security agencies.
“Your Excellency, I am in Ondo State for operational activities and it is important for me to pay you a visit to appreciate all your efforts towards enhancing the security of this State,” Ahmed said.

“I can say that just like your predecessor, late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu did, you are one of the few governors in Nigeria that we have identified as giving tremendous support for our operations.”
He assured the governor that the NSCDC is committed to continuing its support for the government in providing adequate security for the people.

He stated that the Corps is satisfied with the hard work of its personnel and will continue to collaborate with other agencies to enhance safety and protect national assets, particularly against oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
In his response, Aiyedatiwa thanked the commandant for the visit and praised the men and women of the NSCDC for their dedication to internal security duties.
While acknowledging that no state is entirely immune from threats, the governor stated that security agencies in the state have been proactive in addressing recent security challenges.
He noted that a recently leaked intelligence report circulating between two security bodies is proof that the agencies are “working together and collaborating effectively to secure our communities and our people.”
Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his commitment to providing the necessary support to security agencies to encourage the “wonderful jobs they are doing.”
The governor’s remarks follow an emergency high-level State Security Council meeting he convened last week to address public concerns.
At that meeting, the governor declared that the security and stability of the state are non-negotiable and assured the security chiefs that his administration would provide the necessary logistics, intelligence support, and operational backing to stay ahead of any potential threats.
