The Ondo State Government, through the Ministry of Transport, has provided five additional free school shuttle buses to various communities.
In a statement, the Head of Media and Publicity for the Ministry of Transport, Oluwakemi Adedeji-Adeyemi, announced that this initiative is part of the current administration’s efforts to enhance the quality of education for school children in the state.
The handover event took place at the Ministry of Transport in Akure, the state capital.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport, Olugbenga Omole, expressed gratitude to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for deploying the brand new luxury buses. He emphasized that this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for parents and the entire state.
Omole stated that introducing the new buses as a palliative measure to ease parents’ transportation burden is a positive step, adding that it represents an investment in the future of the state.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Olufemi Aladenola, thanked the Governor for the additional free school shuttle buses, noting that they will provide safe and conducive transportation for school children.
Adebisi Jimbola, Principal of Aquinas College, and the state PTA chairman, represented by Pastor Sola Adubi, commended the administration for the new buses. They highlighted that this initiative will improve punctuality, enhance students’ learning assimilation, and reduce daily transportation costs for parents.
The event also featured the inaugural parade of the Ministry of Transport’s uniformed officers, which included a march past.
Student representative Oladele Joshua from Aquinas College, along with teachers and parents, expressed their appreciation to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for procuring the additional free school shuttle buses.
