The commission maintained a strict position on the deadline, warning that it will not entertain requests for late registration.
INEC explained that the portal had been configured to stop accepting applications immediately after the deadline expires.
To ensure a seamless registration process, the commission provided support lines, 07088844564 and 08032861058, to assist applicants facing challenges with uploads or technical issues during the registration period.
“Note: There will be no time extension,” the commission added, urging print, digital and broadcast media organisations to compile and submit their personnel lists early.

INEC said the centralised accreditation system would help prevent unauthorised individuals from gaining access to election venues under the guise of media coverage.
The commission added that the verification timeline would give officials enough time to produce and distribute secure identification tags ahead of the election.
