Last week, INEC reminded Nigerians that the first quarter of the nationwide CVR will close on December 10, 2025. It also restated that registration in Anambra remains suspended due to “electoral activities” in the state, adding that a new date for resumption will be communicated.

The exercise began on August 18, 2025, with online pre-registration, followed by physical capture in all 774 local government areas, state offices, and the FCT, forming part of INEC’s preparations for upcoming elections.

INEC further disclosed that, in line with Section 19 of the Electoral Act 2022, the Display of the Register of Voters for Claims and Objections will run from December 15 to 21 at designated local government offices.

Citizens who registered, transferred, or updated their details during the first quarter were encouraged to use the review window to confirm their information and raise objections where necessary, as public scrutiny remains essential to safeguarding the accuracy of the voter register.

The second phase of the CVR will commence on January 5, 2026, according to the commission’s timetable.
