Ruud Van Nistelrooy appointed Leicester City manager Until 2027

Dutch legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy has signed as Leicester City manager with his contract set to run until June 2027.

According to Leicester City’s official website, Nistelrooy is expected to arrive the UK in time to witness the Premier League clash against Brentford on Saturday.

However, full first-team managerial duties will officially commence for the Dutch legend on Sunday. For the trip to the Gtech Community Stadium, the team will be led by First Team Coach Ben Dawson, supported by Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes.

Renowned as one of the Premier League’s greatest-ever strikers, Van Nistelrooy made his mark with clubs like PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, and Real Madrid. His decorated playing career saw him score 349 goals at club level, complemented by 35 goals in 70 international appearances for the Netherlands.

Van Nistelrooy’s experience and what to offer

Praised for his sharp instincts, technical ability, and leadership, Van Nistelrooy’s qualities extended far beyond the pitch. Transitioning into management, he built a growing reputation with roles at PSV Eindhoven, the Dutch national team, and Manchester United.

Most recently, the 48-year-old served as Interim Manager at Manchester United, where he achieved three wins and a draw earlier this season. Appointed initially as assistant to Erik ten Hag during the summer, his leadership skills have already been on full display.
