Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on an official state visit at the invitation of the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Dr Abiy Ahmed Ali.
During the visit, Shettima is expected to participate in the official launch of Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Programme, a major environmental initiative aimed at tackling deforestation, enhancing biodiversity, and addressing the impact of climate change.
The Green Legacy Programme targets the planting of 20 billion tree seedlings over four years.
In a bid to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in agriculture and industrial development, he will also embark on a strategic tour of key industrial hubs and agricultural centres in Ethiopia.
