Nigerian musician Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has explained that he remains an independent artiste despite performing at political events.
Speaking during a recent appearance on The Real Shareholders podcast, Terry G said he only attends political events to do his job as a performer and not to support any political group or candidate.
He made it clear that artistes like him often take up such gigs as paid jobs, especially with the country’s current economic situation.
Terry G pointed out that it is unfair for fans to assume he supports any political party simply because he performed at their events.
He said that if he had openly asked people to vote for a party, then the criticism would have made more sense.
