A fresh dispute has broken out between Mayowa Lambe and her former partner Roby Ekpo, as she moves to take legal action over claims he made about their past relationship.
The issue came to public attention shortly after Mayowa tied the knot with another man in the United States, a development that surprised many who still believed she was married to Roby. The pair had their traditional wedding in November 2015, but they never openly announced any separation before news of her new marriage surfaced.
During a recent appearance on the The Honest Bunch podcast, Roby spoke about their time together and shared personal details about their marriage, including claims about their struggles with intimacy. He also accused Mayowa of secretly taking steps to avoid pregnancy without his knowledge.
In response, Mayowa did not directly engage with him publicly at first but shared posts on social media suggesting she was calm and comfortable with her choices.

However, matters have now taken a legal turn. Through her lawyer in a letter dated April 22, she stated that their relationship had already ended before her new marriage. According to her, both families were aware that the union was brought to an end on May 11, 2025, and there has been no relationship since then.
She accused Roby of spreading false stories about her personal life and character, saying his statements were aimed at drawing public sympathy while damaging her image. She also said his actions had caused harm to her reputation and emotional well-being.
Her legal team stated that she has evidence to defend herself, including records showing her financial support during the relationship, efforts she made to help his relocation abroad, and medical documents pointing to joint attempts to have a child.

As part of her demands, Mayowa asked Roby to stop making further statements about her and to delete all previous posts and comments related to the issue. She also wants him to publicly withdraw his claims and apologise on the same platforms where he made them.
In addition, she is seeking N100 million as compensation for the damage she said his actions have caused. She gave him a three-day deadline to meet these conditions or face legal proceedings.
