The future is bright for Steven Gerrard

Any team that keeps experiencing poor result will surely face criticism. But the person that usually get the hammer is the manager. This the case of Steven Gerard.

The recent sack could be said to be a stain on his impressive CV.
However, his position had been precarious for weeks due to poor results and the uneasy nature of his relationship with Villa’s support.

Surprisingly, they never give Gerrard a fair level of respect having proven his mettle at Rangers. For a personality who had deservedly won a reputation as an inspirational leader during a stellar career as Liverpool captain and at Ibrox, where he achieved iconic status for stopping Celtic winning 10 titles in a row, the Englishman deserves more.

They have the right not to be unhappy with results. Another issue could be his unattractive style of play fostered and his backroom staff.

They game style seem unclear as there seemed to be no settled formation or identity. Although they produced an occasional good performance against Chelsea at Villa Park on Sunday ending in defeat.

Injuries to star signing cost Gerrard his job at Villa

Having lifted Villa last season, Gerrard could not win over sceptical Villa fans having been idolised at Anfield and Ibrox. This was a battle he never won.

Having made a statement with the signing of former teammate, Phillipe Coutinho, and high-profile signing like Sevilla defender Diego Carlos and French midfielder Boubacar Kamara, Villa weā€™re looking like a team that could compete for European places
The team suffered setbacks after Carlos suffered a serious ankle injury on his home debut and Kamara is expected to be out until the new year with a knee ligament injury sustained against Southampton last month.

After replacing him with Scotland’s McGinn who has made a poor start to the season, the exit sign of Gerrard was showing.

Gerrard’s assistant Michael Beale, who had been with him since Rangers, also left Villa in the summer to become QPR manager.

Gerrard will no doubt be back at some point in the future with a determination to correct a rare failure on his CV. Where next is what could be known soon. Surely, he will be back to management soon.
