President Bola Tinubu has sympathized with the family, followers, and associates of the prominent Islamic preacher, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu, who passed away on Wednesday, 7th of September, 2023.
Tinubu in a condolence statement made available to newsmen by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale described the death of the religious leader as a great loss.Ā
President Tinubu said Argungu’s death was beyond his community but affected the country where he contributed to the canon of religious study, and renowned calls for moral rectitude.

“The voice of Sheikh Giro Argungu will long be remembered for his years of Islamic propagation and advocacy for righteousness. The activities of the cleric through the Islamic group, JIBWIS, where he had served as the Working Committee Chairman, has contributed immensely in guiding a large flock of Muslim youths over the years,” he said.
Tinubu said Sheikh Giro will be missed for his fearless advocacy for the downtrodden and for holding leaders accountable for meeting their obligations to citizens.
He further condoled with the government and people of Kebbi State, and the Nigerian Muslim community.
