President Bola Tinubu has paid a heartfelt tribute to his elder cousin, Dr. Naheemdeen Ade Ekemode, who died at the age of 80.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed his condolences and shared fond memories from their childhood.
Mr Tinubu honoured Dr Ekemodeās remarkable contributions to the medical field, highlighting his distinguished career as a gynaecologist that spanned over five decades.
A well-respected physician, Dr. Ekemode received his training in Egypt and formerly served as the Chairman of the Lagos State Hospitals Management Board.
”Your passing has left an unfillable void in the hearts of our family. The fond memories we shared, from childhood through the many years we spent together, will forever remain in my heart. I will always cherish your bright smile, infectious laughter and unwavering kindness.

”As a physician, your compassion and care touched countless lives, and your legacy will endure through the people you healed, comforted and uplifted. ‘I fondly remember your sense of humour and your caring nature, which never failed to bring joy to those around you. President Tinubu also offered his condolences to the entire family, saying: “In this time of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with your loved ones. The cherished memories we hold dear and the love you gave to us will provide strength and comfort during these difficult times.Ā
”You may no longer be with us in body, but your spirit and the bonds we shared will live on in our hearts forever. May Allah grant you eternal rest, and His mercy and peace be with you always.”
