Nigeria’s Falconets have arrived in Bielsko-Biala ahead of their crucial Round of 16 clash against England.
The high-stakes knockout encounter takes place at the Bielsko-Biala Stadium on Thursday afternoon. Kick-off is scheduled for 2pm Nigeria time as both nations clash for a quarter-final berth.
Moses Aduku’s side secured their place in the knockout stage in emphatic fashion. The West Africans thrashed tournament debutants New Caledonia 10-1 in their final group fixture.
The Falconets had opened their campaign in Sosnowiec against Spain and China before traveling to Lodz.
Meanwhile, England finished second in Group B with four points behind group winners Brazil. The Falconets aim to maintain their momentum as they battle England for a quarter-final spot.
Nigeria faced a tough start to the tournament before mounting a strong recovery. They opened their campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Spain before playing out a goalless draw against China. However, their 10-1 win over New Caledonia demonstrated their destructive attacking potential when operating at full capacity.
Coach Aduku expresses defiant confidence ahead of knockout tie
Head coach Moses Aduku expressed satisfaction with the team’s progress while highlighting defensive corrections. Aduku believes his squad possesses the tactical quality and belief to overcome a resilient England team.
“We’re really happy with the goals we scored today. We wanted to get through to the last 16, and we’ve shown that we can do it,” Aduku told FIFA after the win agaisnt New Caledonia.

“We’ve shipped a few too many goals in this tournament so far, so we’ll be looking to shore things up at the back.”
Aduku stressed that his players are fully prepared for the mounting pressure of elimination football. He remains adamant that winning a world title requires conquering every formidable opponent in their path.
“It’s going to be a tough test,” he said. “If you want to be crowned champions, you’ve got to win every game. We’re ready for the challenge.”
