Former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been banned from driving for six months after failing to provide authorities with information about who was driving his Rolls-Royce when it was caught speeding in Cheshire.
The 34-year-old Egyptian was convicted at Warrington Combined Court after he failed to respond to a notice of prosecution issued by Cheshire Constabulary following the speeding incident.
Court records showed that the vehicle was detected by a speed camera travelling at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on March 27, 2026. Salah did not enter a plea or provide information identifying the person behind the wheel.
The case was dealt with under the Single Justice Procedure, a system in England and Wales that allows magistrates to handle certain less serious offences through written proceedings without a traditional public court hearing.
A court spokeswoman said Salah was convicted of “failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of the Rolls-Royce”.

The court subsequently imposed a six-month driving disqualification and ordered the footballer to pay £1,044. The amount covers the financial penalties and associated court charges arising from the case.
The Independent reported that court records showed Salah “failed to inform police who was behind the wheel” when the vehicle was recorded by the speed camera.
The speeding incident occurred only three days after Salah announced that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 season, bringing his nine-year spell at the Premier League club to an end.

Liverpool confirmed his departure on March 24, describing the forward as a player who had “firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history”.
Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 after moving from Italian side AS Roma and became one of the club’s most prolific goalscorers. He made 442 appearances for Liverpool and scored 257 goals during his time at Anfield.
His honours with the club included two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League, as well as domestic cup successes. He also won the Premier League Golden Boot four times during his Liverpool career.
Following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, Salah moved to Turkish club Trabzonspor, where he has continued his professional career.
The driving case relates specifically to the failure to provide information identifying the driver. The original incident involved the Rolls-Royce being recorded at 36mph on a road with a 30mph speed limit, while the subsequent conviction concerned the failure to identify who was driving the vehicle.
