Governor Hope Uzodimma has conducted an extensive on-the-spot assessment of ongoing construction at the 211 Quick Response Group (QRG) Base of the Nigerian Air Force in Owerri.
In a statement posted on his X page on Monday, the governor said his visit focused on the development of administrative blocks and auxiliary facilities essential for the operational efficiency of the base.
During the inspection, Uzodimma evaluated the current state of the works against the officially approved project schedule.
He noted that the construction has reached a phase of steady advancement, highlighting that both the structural framework and the internal finishing elements are currently trending toward their projected milestones.

While expressing satisfaction with the quality of work observed, the governor held a briefing with the project contractors to reinforce the state’s expectations regarding speed and reliability.
Uzodimma emphasised that the momentum must not only be maintained but also accelerated where feasible.
He issued a firm directive to the site handlers to ensure that the final delivery aligns strictly with the contractual delivery timeline.
“I emphasised the importance of sustaining and, where possible, accelerating the current momentum to ensure strict adherence to the agreed delivery timeline as stipulated in the contractual agreement,” the governor stated following the inspection.
The completion of these facilities is expected to bolster the infrastructure of the Nigerian Air Force in the region, enhancing the security architecture of the state.
