Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has pledged to revamp the state’s road infrastructure, especially Akure, the capital.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, during his inspection of two ongoing road projects in Akure—the dualisation of Oda road and the construction of a flyover at Onyearugbulem/Irese road—reiterated his directive to contractors to expedite project completion.

He emphasised his dedication to fulfilling the late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s vision by prioritizing unfinished projects.
Governor Aiyedatiwa stressed the importance of completing the Oda road before the rainy season, pledging government support to ensure timely completion.
At the flyover site, he reiterated the administration’s commitment to easing traffic congestion and enhancing road connectivity.

Engr. Allen Idowu, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure, highlighted the momentum gained in the project, attributing it to the governor’s encouragement and well-organized mobilization efforts.
He announced a promising outlook, with the first phase of the project set for completion within the next two months.
Engr. Idowu also underscored significant progress in flyover construction, including the completion of foundation work and the erection of piers, marking a 40% completion milestone.

Provisions for future dualization were also noted, reflecting forward-looking infrastructure planning. Bunmi Falodun, representing the Gbeleaje Community, commended the government’s proactive approach to project execution and pledged the community’s support for the governor’s future initiatives.
Governor Aiyedatiwa was accompanied by top government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tayo Oluwatuyi, Deputy Chief of Staff, Segun Omojuwa and the Head of Service, Kayode Ogundele and officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure, led by the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Allen Idowu.
