Williams sisters awarded wildcard entry for Cincinnati Open doubles return

Iconic legends Serena and Venus Williams have officially received a wildcard entry for the Cincinnati Open. The legendary duo will team up in the prestigious women’s doubles draw this August.

They previously planned a grand reunion at Wimbledon before Serena suffered an unfortunate knee injury. That setback occurred during her singles comeback clash against Australian prospect Maya Joint.

This elite WTA 1000 tournament will run continuously from August 11 through August 23 in Ohio. Notably, it marks their first joint doubles appearance since competing at the 2022 US Open.

Together, the iconic siblings have captured an extraordinary 14 Grand Slam doubles crowns and three Olympic gold medals. Additionally, 46-year-old Venus has received an individual wildcard spot into the singles main tournament.
