Work Of Art: Social media users react to Asake’s sophomore release


Nigerian recording artiste, Asake released his sophomore album, Work of Art during the early hours of today, Friday, June 16.

Social media users and entertainment pundits have taken to their respective Twitter accounts to react to the new music project.

Several netizens have claimed in their post that the singer-songwriter has failed to evolve from his ‘Amapiano’ sound that dominated the Nigerian and African music industry following the release of his debut studio album, Mr Money With The Vibe in 2022.

Asake who sang predominantly in his native Yoruba language on his newly released album has been admonished by fans and music pundits to evolve on his songwriting bandwidth and become more versatile in his approach to music.

Despite the criticism from some arm of Twitter commentators, Asake also received applause from another sect of pundits.

He is receiving positive remark from those who are appreciating his ability to create music for those who enjoy the epicureanism of life.

Equally, since attaining fame and becoming a legit superstar in the Nigerian entertainment industry, Asake’s Work of Art is predominantly about appreciation to God almighty who brought him into limelight and his experience thus far in the limelight.

Announcing the album release on Twitter, Asake wrote, “Work of Art out worldwide”
