Legendary American wrestler Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71.

Reports indicate that the WWE icon suffered a cardiac arrest at his residence in Florida on Thursday, July 24.

Born Terry Gene Bollea on August 11, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia, Hogan was the son of Pietro “Peter” Bollea, a construction foreman, and Ruth V. Moody, a homemaker and dance instructor.

His death comes just weeks after online rumors falsely claimed he was critically ill. At the time, his representative dismissed the reports, stating that Hogan had recently undergone a successful neck surgery.
