Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai has publicly criticised the organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) after she was left out of the 2026 nomination list.
The nominations for the 12th edition of the awards were recently announced, with her co-star in To Kill A Monkey, Bimbo Akintola, securing a spot in the Best Lead Actress category.
Reacting to the development, Afegbai expressed disappointment over her omission, insisting that her role as Idia in the series stood out and gained significant attention during the year.

Taking to her X account, she wrote, “AMVCA smh. I always choose to believe everything happens for a reason.
