Social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has attacked presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga following the controversy surrounding an AI-generated audio linked to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The issue started after the Presidency vowed to take legal action against VeryDarkMan over a viral audio clip allegedly containing a fake voice of Tinubu.
The audio, which circulated online, suggested that insecurity in Nigeria would continue because many Nigerians did not support Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.
An X user identified as @Pious_minister had alleged that the manipulated audio was used in one of VeryDarkMan’s videos, leading to reactions from government officials and social media users.

Responding through a video shared on his social media platforms, VeryDarkMan lashed out at Onanuga and refused to defend the controversial audio recording. He stated that the government was focusing on the wrong issue while insecurity continued to affect many Nigerians.
The activist questioned why the Presidency had not publicly addressed the reported kidnapping of teachers and students in Oyo State. He spoke about reports claiming that one of the abducted teachers was killed while others, including schoolchildren, were still being held by kidnappers.

VeryDarkMan also expressed anger that the victims were reportedly still in captivity during the Children’s Day celebration, accusing government officials of paying more attention to online controversies instead of security problems affecting citizens.
During the video, the influencer repeatedly insulted Onanuga and accused people around the President of lacking good judgment. He claimed the administration was more interested in going after critics online than addressing violent crimes and kidnappings happening across the country.
He said: “President spokesman Bayo, you are a very stupid old man. I’m not trying to insult you, but look at the meaning of stupid. That’s what you represent. I swear to God, you are so daft, and this is the reason why I said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not come back in 2027 because all the people that operate under him don’t use their brains.
“You see this audio, I will not defend it. Bandits went into a school in Oyo State, they carried three teachers, one man, two women, they carried students. Few days later, there was a report that one of the teachers was beheaded. As I speak to you today, it is Children’s Day. Those children are still in an unknown location. It’s only stupid people that will believe that video.”
