I think I write for Nigerian students currently reading a course or the other, or even those that have graduated, that most of their lecturers are sitting comfortably on this group chat.
1. Tear a sheet of paper for this test
A Nigerian lecturer can just walk into his class and make such a statement even though he did not inform the students before that there was going to be a test. It is also typical of them to conduct a test when they notice there are not many students in class that day.
2. Grading students 69, or even 59, 49, 44 (=carryover)
I think most Nigerian lecturers believe that students are undeserving of 70, or that students do not know enough to earn them an A. In sane climes, the 69 can easily be rounded off to 70 or 59 to 60. In saner climes, a lecturer need not believe that A belongs to his late mother in hellfire.

3. Nigerian lecturers are fond of walking out of class
A lecturer can walk out of a class because the students don’t know the question he asked them. He may not set his feet into the class again until the end of the semester. If a student corrects a lecturer in class, this may also happen.
4. Nigerian lecturers will never say his class won’t be held for that day
In Nigeria, students can sit in a class for 2 hours while waiting for a lecturer to arrive. In a decent university, a lecturer would’ve notified the students earlier of his unavailability for that class that day.
5. Becoming a purveyor of stories that are completely unrelated to the course
Most Nigerian lecturers are ‘fantastic’ storytellers, telling students stories that, in most cases, have no relevance to the students’ lives. Excuse me, sir, can we come back to the main purpose of this class? I just want to pass this course.
What have I missed? What is the most annoying thing a lecturer ever did to you in class?
