The Federal Government (FG) has declared Monday, May 1, as a public holiday to mark this year’s Workers Day celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola disclosed this in Abuja in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Shuaib Belgore yesterday.
Aregbesola praised workers for their diligence, sacrifice, and hard work toward the country’s economy.

The minister said dignity in labour, dedication and commitment to the work we do is vital in building the nation.
He added that the workers’ efforts are largely responsible for the country’s greatness and the respect it got among countries of nations.
He said the end of work is productivity that leads to the satisfactory provision of goods and services and wealth creation.

While urging the workers to imbibe the culture of productivity, Aregbesola reiterated that as the path to national and individual prosperity.
Also, the minister urges workers to raise the bar of their trade in line with the Buhari led-administration to drive to upgrade the vehicle of governance and make all the people of Nigeria derive maximum benefit from the nation.
He further stated that President Muhammadu Buhari‘s administration is fully committed to the security of life and property of every citizen and foreigner in the country as well as applauded security agencies for the fight against criminals across the country.
