Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has unveiled the Ikeja flyover bridge, a crucial element of the state’s Red Line Rail project.
In a statement through his official communication platform on Tuesday, Sanwo-Olu expressed his administration’s dedication to constructing a contemporary and dependable rail transit system, fostering improved connectivity across the entire state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu was joined by AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Governor of Kwara State, and Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, among other dignitaries.

Sanwo-Olu wrote , “Today, we inaugurated the Ikeja Flyover, a key component of the Red Line Rail Project. This significant milestone take us a step closer to the inauguration of the entire Red Line Rail Project in Lagos.
“The Ikeja Flyover and its counterparts—Yaba and Oyingbo bridges—are pivotal to the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Red Line. These structures are crucial in ensuring the safety and convenience of Lagosians as we advance in our rail transit system.
“With the Ikeja Flyover’s inauguration, we’re witnessing the interconnection of critical pieces in our transit network. These bridges underscore our commitment to efficient and safe transportation for all in Lagos.”
