Norwegian club HamKam FC have sealed a partnership deal with Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba.
In February this year, a delegation from HamKam paid Enyimba Int’l Football Club a visit in anticipation of the deal.
The delegation led by Chief Scout JĆørgen BjĆørn, also included Chris Twiddy and Leon Bardacki. Their visit to Aba also saw them familiarise with Enyimba FC’s burgeoning academy.
Currently fourth in the NPFL standings, Enyimba FC is a top club in Nigeria and on the African continent.

The Aba giants trail league leaders Rangers by three points with nine games of the season left to play.
According to BjĆørn, the purpose of the partnership is to create good collaboration that gives both clubs positive ripple effects.
A statement read, “HamKam will help Enyimba build up the structure of their club, especially at youth level. We will assist them in the form of us traveling down to Nigeria twice a year and holding training sessions with their teams.
“When we are there, we will also hold lectures on various academic topics such as methodology, physical training recovery and other important things.”
Visits and Hospitalization
According to the Scandinavian club, “Kanu and his people will visit us annually. Players from Enyimba will be allowed to host with our A team and G19. We hope we can get more good players through this collaboration.”
Enyimba Chairman Kanu Nwankwo’s influence
Club chairman Kanu Nwankwo is a well-respected former player. He featured heavily for Ajax, Inter Milan, Arsenal, West Brom and Portsmouth, among others.
Kanu made over 80 caps appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria before calling it quits in 2012. As a matter of fact, he is the most decorated Nigerian player in history.
An Enyimba Int’l FC delegation led by the 47-year-old visited HamKam and Norway this week. During their visit, they were given a tour of HamKam clubās facilities.
In addition, an agreement was signed linking the two clubs together in a collaboration. BjĆørn is delighted with the agreement which will “link the clubs together and hopefully cultivate new top players and experience.”
